Sausage Alfredo Pasta

Normally, I stay away from jarred alfredo sauce. I’m a big advocate for making your own alfredo sauce, I even have a recipe here that will knock your socks off. But…I don’t always have time to make that. The other day, I literally looked at a fridge that was empty and tried to pull something together. I felt like I was performing a magic trick, because I wasn’t even sure what I was going to make. With a few sparse ingredients from the fridge and a can of alfredo sauce from the pantry, this amazing recipe was created. My kids RAVED about this recipe, and now I’m not so opposed to jarred alfredo sauce.

What Ingredients Are in Italian Sausage Alfredo Pasta?

  • Italian Sausage – My favorite Italian sausage is from Jimmy Dean. I love the flavor and it’s not too spicy for my kids.
  • Alfredo Sauce – I had a jar of Bertolli Alfredo Sauce on hand that I used. It was delicious and worked well for this recipe.
  • Rigatoni Pasta – Going through my pantry, these rigatoni pasta noodles were what I had on hand. Again, perfect for what I needed.
  • Broccoli – I love broccoli in a pasta. It is so yummy! I can also sneak in some vegetables that my kids normally wouldn’t eat. The broccoli complimented all the flavors in this pasta so well.
  • Parmesan Cheese – Parmesan cheese has the best unique flavor that is so good with this recipe. I added a few sprinkles of parmesan cheese to this recipe to make it even better.
  • Bacon – Going out on a limb here, I sprinkled some crumbled bacon in this pasta and good things happened. But honestly, when is adding bacon NOT a good idea?
