Helpful Ingredient Tips
- Fresh Strawberries – This recipe is made with fresh strawberries, but I have also used strawberries that need to be used before going bad and both work great for this recipe.
- Lemon Juice – The lemon juice adds a little acidity to balance the sweetness of the strawberries and sugar. It also brightens the natural strawberry flavor, making the filling taste fresh and fruity without being overly sweet.
- Cornstarch – Cornstarch is important because it thickens the juices released by the strawberries as they bake, keeping the middle from becoming runny. It helps create a thick, juicy strawberry filling that holds together when you scoop out a serving, without making the cobbler gummy or overly thick.
- White Sugar
- Brown Sugar
- All-Purpose Flour
- White Sugar
- Salt
- Melted Butter – I used salted butter here.
- Baking Powder
- Whole Milk – I always recommend using whole milk when baking because the extra fat adds moisture and richness to the batter. It helps create a softer, more tender cobbler topping with a delicious texture. Whole milk is my go-to for baking because it adds that little bit of richness that makes homemade desserts even better!
- Pure Vanilla

Storage and Reheating
Storage
Allow the strawberry cobbler to cool completely, then cover the baking dish with plastic wrap or transfer leftovers to an airtight container. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
reheating
To reheat individual servings, place them in the microwave for 30–60 seconds, or until warmed through. To reheat a larger portion, cover the baking dish with foil and warm in a 350°F oven for 15–20 minutes, or until heated through.
