Stuffed French Toast

This stuffed French toast recipe is for the sweet breakfast lovers. With a golden and crisp outside and filled with a decadent, rich cream cheese filling, this stuffed French toast is everyone's favorite. Top with fresh fruit, homemade jam or syrup and a dash of powdered sugar for the ultimate breakfast.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf cinnamon swirl bread
  • 8 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Filling

  • 4 oz cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp butter softened
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar

Instructions
 

  • In a mixing bowl, combine butter, cream cheese, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and powdered sugar.
  • Beat together with a mixer until smooth. Set aside.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Set aside.
  • Spray a griddle or frying pan with cooking spray and turn to medium heat.
  • Dip each slice of cinnamon swirl bread front and back in the egg mixture and transfer to hot griddle. Cook 2-3 minutes on each side until each side are slightly golden brown. Remove from heat.
  • While warm, take two pieces of French toast and spread 2-3 tablespoons of the cream cheese filling in the middle making a sandwich with both pieces of the French toast.
  • Top with favorite toppings and serve.
