Slow Cooker French Dip Sandwiches

Slow cooker French dip sandwiches are an incredibly easy weeknight dinner that's packed with rich, savory flavor and mel-in-your mouth beef. With tender meat simmered to perfection and served on a toasted bun with warm au jus for dipping, this family-friendly recipe is as delicious as it is effortless.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 (3-4 lb.) beef chuck roast
  • 3-4 tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 tbsp Tones Beef Base
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp parsley
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • butter
  • 8 hoagie buns
  • 8 slices provolone cheese

Au Jus

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp Tones Beef Base

Instructions
 

  • Heat 3-4 tablespoons oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat.
  • Place the beef roast in the frying pan and sear all sides until browned. Remove roast from heat and place in slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl or cup, combine 1/2 cup warm water, beef base and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined and pour over top of roast.
  • In a small bowl, combine seasonings and mix well. Sprinkle seasonings over roast.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours until roast is fork tender. Shred and set aside.
  • In a small saucepan, bring one cup of water to a slow boil.
  • Add in one tablespoon of beef base and stir until dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Slice hoagie rolls in half lengthwise and place them cut side up on a baking sheet pan.
  • Butter one side of the hoagie buns, layer cheese on the other side, then place them under the broiler and toast for 1-2 minutes until the bread is golden and the cheese if perfectly melted.
  • Immediately remove from heat and assemble sandwiches with desired amount of shredded beef.
  • Serve with au jus dipping sauce and enjoy!
