What Ingredients Are in Swedish Meatballs?
- Meatballs – I usually use about 1 lb. of meatballs in this recipe. You can find my recipe for homemade meatballs here.
- Egg Noodles – As previously mentioned, I always make my own egg noodles. It does take a little bit more time and effort to make them, but the taste is incredible! If you do not have time to make your own egg noodles, regular packaged egg noodles will work as well. You can find my recipe for homemade egg noodles here.
- Garlic Powder – This is a savory dish so I use all the savory flavors that I can. Garlic powder brings a great flavor to the gravy.
- Onion Powder – Adding in onion powder also really helps to also bring in some additional flavor.
- Paprika – Paprika adds a little sweet and savory flavor.
- Beef Broth – I like to use beef broth instead of water in my recipes to bring in some extra flavor.
- Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup – This is the base of the gravy.
- Whole Milk – I always use whole milk in my cooking. Whole milk has a higher fat content which contributes to better flavor.
- Cream Cheese – Instead of using sour cream like normal Swedish meatball recipes, I like to add cream cheese instead. This adds a creaminess to the gravy.
- Cornstarch – You will mix together cornstarch and water to create a slurry. This is going to thicken your gravy at the end of cooking.
