Easy Hamburger Soup Slow Cooker
This slow cooker hamburger soup is the perfect cold weather soup. When the weather turns and we need something to warm our bones after being outside feeding the animals, we love to come home to this soup. I love that this soup is an easy soup that I can throw together in the morning and let it cook all day while we go about our day.
The flavor gets better as it simmers, making every bite rich and comforting. With tender vegetables, perfectly seasoned beef, and a savory broth, it’s the kind of meal that feels like a warm hug at the end of a long day.

What Ingredients Are in Slow Cooker Hamburger Soup?
- Ground Beef – I use our delicious grass-finished beef that we raise. (You can find that here.) It’s incredibly nutrient dense and so flavorful. Our ground beef is a lean blend of 90/10. You can use any type of ground beef that you would like.
- Red Potatoes – I love to use red potatoes for this recipe, but you can use any type of potato you want.
- Carrots – My family loves cooked carrots in recipes, and I love that they love them! They are so good for you and also add a little sweetness to this soup.
- Green Beans – Surprisingly, my family loves green beans – even my kids. However, if you have some picky eaters that do not like green beans, feel free to leave these out. I like to add the green beans right before we eat so that they don’t get mushy while cooking all day. If this doesn’t bother you, feel free to add them in the morning.
- Beef Broth – Rather than using water, I like to use beef broth in my soup recipes to add some yummy flavor to the base of the soup.
- Condensed Tomato Soup – Adding condensed tomato soup makes this soup so flavorful and have a hint of sweetness that pairs well with the ground beef and vegetables.

Gluten Free Hamburger Soup
To make this slow cooker hamburger soup gluten free, you will want to switch out the condensed tomato soup for a gluten free condensed tomato soup. This is the kind that I often times use:
Pacific Foods Organic Gluten Free Tomato Soup
Storage and Reheating
Store soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. To reheat the soup, you can either pop it in the microwave or reheat it on the stove.
Freezer friendly directions: This recipe is a great make-ahead meal. When I want to make this as a freezer friendly meal, I follow the directions like usual, and instead of adding them to the slow cooker, I will place the ingredients in a Ziploc freezer bag. Place the prepared soup in the freezer and store it up to 3 months. When you want a quick dinner option, just take it out of the freezer and place it in the slow cooker on low for the day.
