Peach Crisp Recipe

I absolutely love when it’s peach season. There is nothing better than a juicy, fresh peach in the summer heat. After we have had our fill of fresh peaches, which does take a while, then I move on to making peach desserts.

This peach crisp recipe is one of our family’s all-time favorite peach dessert recipes! It’s quick and easy to make and is great by itself or topped with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. The warm fruit paired with the cinnamon oat crumble on top is so delicious! It’s like the ultimate summer comfort food.

The Cowboys’ Rating: 10/10

Every time I make a new recipe, I have my family rate the recipe out of 10. By the time, these recipes make the blog, they’ve been tried and tested by some of my hardest tiny critics!

What Ingredients are in Peach Crisp?

  • Fresh Peaches – Most of the time, use those fresh, summer peaches for this recipe, however, I have used canned peaches before and it’s still good. With the peaches and crumble crisp here, you just can’t go wrong anyway. If you do use canned peaches, make sure to drain them completely.
  • Almond Extract – I toss the peaches in almond extract. It’s a beautiful combination that really enhances the flavor of the peaches.
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • White Sugar
  • Brown Sugar – Brown sugar is a softer sugar with a hint of molasses that adds so much flavor to the cinnamon oat crumble.
  • Cinnamon – Peaches and cinnamon are a beautiful pair. They’re just made to go together. Not only is the taste of cinnamon in this peach crisp is lovely, but the smell is too. Seriously, someone should make a candle of this scent.
  • Salt – Salt always brings out the best flavors in dishes if added in correct amounts.
  • Butter – I used salted butter here. The butter is going to help bring in some moisture, flavor and crispness to the peach crisp. About an hour before making the peach crisp, take the butter out and place it on the counter so that it is at room temperature.
  • Old Fashioned Oats – These oats are flaked and make such a nice crumble.

Storing Peach Crisp

Oh, how I love peach crisp. I love it as a dessert, I love it as breakfast, and I love it as a snack. So, the best way to store it is in an airtight container in the fridge. It lasts for up to 5 days and is so good reheated. I have heated in the microwave or reheated it in the oven before and both ways are still delicious.
