What Ingredients Are in Ground Beef Tortellini?

  • Ground Beef – As always, we use our own homegrown ground beef that is grass-finished and regeneratively raised. It’s delicious, lean and so good. Our ground beef is 90/10 and I never have to drain off a bunch of fat.
  • Refrigerated 5-Cheese Tortellini Pasta – I like to use refrigerated tortellini for this recipe. It cooks faster, tastes fresher and really is a good pasta. Here is the brand I like to use.
  • Garlic Powder – I think any Italian dish needs a touch of garlic. I use garlic powder in this ground beef tortellini recipe to bring some extra flavor to the ground beef.
  • Onion Powder – Adding in onion powder also really helps to bring in some depth and zest to the ground beef.
  • Italian Seasoning – Italian seasoning is a blend of dried herbs. To really give this ground beef tortellini some flavor, I add in a full tablespoon and a half of Italian seasoning.
  • Sugar – Adding just a hint of sugar to this recipe makes it seem slightly less acidic and a touch sweeter.
  • Spaghetti Sauce – any spaghetti sauce or marinara of your choice will do here.
  • Heavy Whipping Cream – I love a creamy tomato sauce. So, to add that creamy flavor that compliments the tortellini and beef, I added in about 3/4 cup of heavy whipping cream. Side note* this is definitely not a diet recipe!
  • Parmesan Cheese – Just a smidgen for garnishing.
  • Salt & Pepper
