cream gravy with potatoes
- In a stockpot, bring 3-4 cups of water to a boil.
- Add in baby red or yellow potatoes and cook until soft.
- Remove from heat and strain.
- Spoon cream gravy over top of potatoes and top with shredded cheese.
- Serve and enjoy.
Storage
I store the excess homemade white gravy in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Sometimes I make the gravy ahead of time and put it in the refrigerator for future recipes to cut down on dinnertime. When you’re ready to eat the gravy, just pop it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, stir and serve! It’s super simple!
Because you are using heavy whipping cream, you will notice that when you warm up the gravy, it will be slightly lumpy. It’s totally ok and still tastes great!

Cream Gravy with Potatoes
I love to serve this easy cream gravy over baby potatoes or red potatoes. Then, I take some shredded cheddar cheese and even add some peas too. This combo is deadly and will have you addicted to it. The deliciousness of the gravy over the potatoes with the melted cheese and the sweetness of the peas, oh my. It’s so good.
