Helpful Ingredient Tips

Below is a list of the ingredients used in this recipe, along with a few helpful tips and notes that may answer questions and help you get the best results.

  • Rice Krispie Cereal
  • Vanilla – I prefer to use pure vanilla rather than vanilla extract. It has a richer flavor rather than the flavor you get with vanilla extract.
  • Salted Butter
  • Marshmallows – You’ll want to use mini marshmallows for this recipe. Since it’s a s’mores version, I also fold in extra mini marshmallows at the end for that classic gooey texture.
  • Sweetened Condensed Milk – Sweetened condensed milk is my secret to ultra-soft Rice Krispie treats—it adds extra moisture and richness, keeping them gooey and tender instead of firm or dry.
  • Graham Crackers – This recipe wouldn’t be a true s’mores version without graham crackers. I prefer breaking them into small chunks instead of crushing them—it gives the Rice Krispies a better texture with a little extra bite.
  • Milk Chocolate Chips – For the chocolate, I like to use milk chocolate chips for that classic s’mores flavor. They melt just enough to get gooey without completely disappearing allowing you to taste the chocolate in each bite.

  1. Break the graham crackers into small chunks and set aside.
  2. In a large stockpot, melt the butter over medium-low heat.

  4. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla and sweetened condensed milk until well combined.

  8. Line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper to prevent sticking.

  11. Let sit for about 1 hour to set, then cut into squares and serve.
  12. Enjoy!

Storage Directions

Store your S’mores Rice Krispie Treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to keep them soft and gooey. For best results, place a piece of parchment or wax paper between layers to prevent sticking.

If you want to keep them longer, you can refrigerate for up to 1 week, though they may firm up slightly—just let them sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving to soften.
