Cheeseburger Crescent Roll Bake Recipe

I’ve made a lot of crescent roll bakes over the years, and this cheeseburger crescent roll bake is one of my kids’ favorites. I have tested many times the combination of seasoned ground beef, melty cheese, and buttery crescent dough to get the layers just right—so the bottom is perfectly cooked, and the top is golden and flaky. I’ve found small tips, like baking on the bottom rack, make all the difference, and after multiple tries, this version consistently comes out delicious every time. It’s also a recipe that I find myself reaching for on those busy days with little or no time to prep dinner. All in all, it’s an easy dinner win.

Helpful Ingredient Tips

  • Ground Beef – As always, we use our own homegrown ground beef that is grass-finished and regeneratively raised. It’s delicious, lean and so good. Our ground beef is 90/10 and I never have to drain off a bunch of fat.
  • Pilsbury Crescent Dough Sheet – Did you know that Pilsbury makes crescent dough SHEETS? Yep. This is going to make your life easier. Also, keep the crescent dough in the fridge until you are ready to remove it from the tube. If you leave it out on the counter while you’re cooking the ground beef, it gets warm and then has a hard time not sticking to the tube. Ask me how I know this.
  • Cheddar Cheese – I hand-shred the cheddar for fresher flavor and a creamier melt—pre-shredded cheese often contains anti-caking agents that can prevent it from melting smoothly.
  • Bacon – I buy the precooked real bacon pieces in bulk from Sam’s club and store it in the fridge. It comes in handy when I want to add bacon to recipes. You can either cook some bacon or add bacon pieces to this recipe.

Recipe for Cheeseburger Crescent Roll Bake

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef with the seasonings and Worcestershire sauce until fully cooked. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Lightly spray a quarter sheet pan with cooking spray.
  4. Unroll one sheet of crescent roll dough and press it evenly into the bottom of the pan, sealing any seams.
  5. Layer the cooked ground beef evenly over the dough, then top with cheese and bacon.
  6. Unroll the second sheet of crescent dough and place it over the top. Gently press the edges to seal, then sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  7. Place on the very bottom rack of your oven—this helps the bottom crescent layer cook through completely and prevents it from becoming soft or doughy.
  8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and fully cooked through.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy!

Storage and Reheating

Leftovers store beautifully in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. To enjoy again, you can reheat slices in a 350°F oven for 10–12 minutes until the crescent dough is crisp and golden, or pop them in the air fryer at 325°F for 5–7 minutes for a quick, perfectly heated bite. If you’re in a rush, the microwave works too—just 45–60 seconds will do, though the crust may be a little softer.
