Rice Krispies with Peanut Butter Cups

As someone who has been dubbed the Rice Krispie Queen on social media, I promise, you are going to want to make these. My current Homemade Rice Krispie Treats recipe is the number one recipe on my site and has been for years. It has a secret ingredient that makes them extra soft – and better than any rice Krispie treat you’ve ever tasted. I love making different variations of Rice Krispies that take them to the next level.

I might say this a lot, but this might be my favorite version yet. My family rated them a 10/10 and told me if they could rate them higher, they would. And these are so dang easy to make! We’re taking everything you already love about my extra-soft, gooey Rice Krispie treats and loading them up with chopped Reese’s peanut butter cups for that classic chocolate-and-peanut-butter combo. They’re rich, chewy, and perfectly peanut buttery—basically the kind of dessert that disappears the second you set the pan down.

The Cowboys’ Rating: 10/10

Every time I make a new recipe, I have my family rate the recipe out of 10. By the time, these recipes make the blog, they’ve been tried and tested by some of my hardest tiny critics!

What Ingredients are in Reese’s Peanut Butter Rice Krispie Treats?

  • Rice Krispie Cereal – I’m not too picky when it comes to choosing the cereal for this treat. I usually just buy the generic brand crisp rice cereal.
  • Vanilla – I prefer to use pure vanilla rather than vanilla extract. It has a richer flavor rather than the flavor you get with vanilla extract.
  • Salted Butter
  • Marshmallows – This is a controversial topic, but I don’t think it matters if you use mini marshmallows or large marshmallows. Either will work just fine.
  • Sweetened Condensed MilkTHIS IS THE SECRET INGREDIENT TO SOFT RICE KRISPIES. Sorry for shouting there, but don’t skip out on this key ingredient. It makes the softest, chewiest, most divine rice Krispie treats you’ve ever had.
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups – I like to use the snack size ones that come in an 8 pack. These seems to be the most budget friendly and I’m also not standing over the garbage unwrapping a million of the mini sized ones.
  • Peanut Butter – I added some peanut butter into the melted marshmallows and oh my word, this might be the best thing I’ve ever done. It was so good.
  • Chocolate Chips – This is optional, but I wanted it to look pretty on top. So, I melted chocolate chips and peanut butter together and drizzled it over top of the Rice Krispie treats. It was amazing.
