Baked Ravioli Recipe
Listen, my experience of eating ravioli is not a great one. As a kid, the only ravioli I knew to be edible were the canned version by Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli in tomato and meat sauce. I’m just going to say this, it was not good. I think I would have rather eaten my socks. Anyway, let’s move on from that.
I wanted to make a homemade ravioli version that was quick, delicious, and definitely more flavorful and healthier than the canned version. And, I think I nailed it. My family rated this meal a solid 9 which is a winner for me.
The Cowboys’ Rating: 9/10
Every time I make a new recipe, I have my family rate the recipe out of 10. By the time, these recipes make the blog, they’ve been tried and tested by some of my hardest tiny critics!
What Ingredients Are in Baked Ravioli?
- Ground Beef – As always, we use our own homegrown ground beef that is grass-finished and regeneratively raised. It’s delicious, lean and so good. Our ground beef is 90/10 and I never have to drain off a bunch of fat.
- Minced Garlic – By now you should know that I am a huge minced garlic fan in beef recipes. It brings in some really savory flavor without being overpowering.
- Onion Powder – Onion powder is also a staple I use to bring in some subtle flavor.
- Italian Seasoning – The ravioli in this recipe is so yummy but can also be bland if you don’t add in some good seasonings. Italian seasoning brings a variety of different herb flavors making this recipe so good!
- Spaghetti Sauce – Spaghetti sauce is a tricky one. I find that I have a hard time finding a spaghetti sauce I truly love, so I started canning my own spaghetti sauce a few years ago. (You can find that recipe here) The sauce makes all the difference so make sure to choose a sauce with lots of flavor.
- Refrigerated Ravioli Noodles – I like to use the refrigerated ravioli rather than the frozen ravioli, however, you definitely can use the frozen ravioli too!
- Kosher Salt
- Pepper
- Cream Cheese – I love adding cream cheese to tomato sauces. It brings a richer flavor but also makes it not so acidic.
- Mozzarella Cheese – I know that the ravioli has cheese inside, but just sprinkle a little mozzarella cheese on top and you will thank me later.
- Parmesan Cheese – Yes use this for the topping too.
Tools You’ll Need
- Oven Safe Frying Pan or Dutch Oven – *If you do not have an oven safe frying pan or Dutch oven, you can use a 9×13″ baking dish. Simply transfer the ravioli and beef to the 9×13″ baking dish and bake for the recommended time frame.

- Measuring Cups & Spoons
