Homemade Whipped Cream Recipe
There is just something about homemade food. It’s just so good and comforting. A few years ago, I started making my own whipped cream for Thanksgiving. First, I couldn’t believe how easy it was to make, and second, I couldn’t believe how much better it was! If you have never had homemade whipped cream, you’re in for a treat. The flavor is so rich and creamy! I honestly could just eat it with a spoon and not add it to anything!

What Ingredients Are in Homemade Whipped Cream?
- Heavy Whipping Cream – Make sure that you are using heavy whipping cream – not half and half or any other substitute.
- Powdered Sugar – I have used regular sugar as well, but I have found that powdered sugar makes it a little fluffier with a lighter consistency.
- Vanilla – I prefer using pure vanilla rather than vanilla extract but either will work just fine.
Tools You’ll Need
How to Make Homemade Whipped Cream
- In a mixing bowl, combine heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla.
- With a mixer, beat on high for 5-10 minutes until stiff peaks form and the whipped cream is light and fluffy.
- Serve and enjoy!
How to Store Homemade Whipped Cream
Store the homemade whipped cream in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 7 days. You will notice that it might lose the light and fluffy consistency as it sits in the fridge. That’s ok! Simply use a hand mixer again to beat until light and fluffy once more.
